Samara Beach Costa Rica

Samara Beach Costa Rica is a perfect long alabaster sand beach with gentle waters. It’s a paradise located on the west coast of southern Nicoya Peninsula in Guanacaste province. It takes around 4 hours to drive yourself from the capitol, but if you are flying, there are daily flights and it takes around 40 minutes to get there. If driving, from San Jose follow the Inter Americana Highway North, until the turnoff for the Tempisque Bridge, Puente de la Amistad. Coming from the Liberia International Airport it will take about 2 hours by car. After crossing the Nicoya Peninsula, you can drive directly to Nicoya and from there turn south to Smara. The area is truly a secret hotspot and now, with the new bridge that substituted the Tempisque ferry, Samara Beach is Guanacaste’s most easily accessible beach. real estate investing in Samara is developing as quickly as in the rest of Costa Rica, with many foreigners buying land from locals. Samara’s village is divided in two sections by a large cattle ranch (finca). They are connected by road, but you can drive along the beach between them. The southern section is where the action is; and the northern section, called Cangrejal, is more secluded and laid back, with only basic hotels. Right in the middle is where the hot surfing areas are in Playa Samara. Costa Rica is definitely world known for its surfing hot spots.

The town of Playa Samara also has an air strip for those who’d rather not drive. The long beach makes it great for long leisurely strolls along the shore and safe swimming due to the reef that borders the coast. This charming beach features a wide choice of hotels, restaurants, bars, and discos. Many Costa Ricans including ex-president Oscar Arias Sanchez have homes here. The calm waters make this an attractive spot for real estate with a long, wide and protected beach. Samara Beach is a thriving typical Costa Rican fishing and farming community. As if it were stuck back in time, there are cowboys and cattle drives, fishing boats returning at spectacular sunsets, exotic fruit harvests and tree nurseries.

Here you can enjoy a whole day relaxing on the beach, or you can go for some of the activities offered here at Samara. Costa Rica is never boring, especially in this magical surroundings.
