Ocotal is a relatively small pale sand beach just 2 miles (3 km) south of Playa del Coco on the northwest Pacific coast of Costa Rica. Playa Ocotal is a breath of fresh air and tranquility if you are seeking refuge from the crowds at Playas del Coco. During weekends and Costa Rican holidays, Coco Beach overflows its capacity, and you’ll be hard pressed to find a villa, or hotel room available if you don’t have previous reservations. The paved roads make it easy to travel through out the entire province. If you enjoy nightlife, a short drive away is Coco Beach, with its bars, restaurants and lively Costa Rican atmosphere.
