Playa Dominical Costa Rica is located in the Central Pacific Region of Costa Rica and is often referred to as every surfer’s dream. Punta Dominical is a small town, 28 miles (45 km) south of Quepos. What you will find here is a church, a school, and a few restaurants and hotels. Former visitors fell in love with this coastal paradise and never left. Many of these tourists married Ticas or Ticos and decided to start a new life here. Playa Dominical’s lefts and rights attract surfers who want to travel here and spend a great time with fellow surfers. The Dominical beach runs for 3 miles (4 km) with a rocky brown shore, where you can enjoy activities like diving, snorkeling, and kayaking. Lush forests next to the coast make it an excellent place for bird watching, sliding along a cable over the tree tops, or observing flora and fauna from a canopy observation platform. This park was created in 1990 to protect 8 miles (13 km) of shoreline. The park includes 272 land acres (110 hectares) and 13 water acres (5 hectares).
