Playa Dominical Costa Rica
Playa Dominical Costa Rica is located in the Central Pacific Region of Costa Rica and is often referred to as every surfer’s dream. Punta Dominical is a small town, 28 miles (45 km) south of Quepos. What you will find here is a church, a school, and a few restaurants and hotels. Former visitors fell in love with this coastal paradise and never left. Many of these tourists married Ticas or Ticos and decided to start a new life here. Playa Dominical’s lefts and rights attract surfers who want to travel here and spend a great time with fellow surfers. Lodging in this area of Costa Rica can satisfy every budget and taste; anything from a small room in a hotel to a large house can be rented here. Surfers who settled here run their own businesses like bed and breakfasts, surf camps, and other accommodations on the beach.
The Dominical beach runs for 3 miles (4 km) with a rocky brown shore, where you can enjoy activities like diving, snorkeling, and kayaking. Lush forests next to the coast make it an excellent place for bird watching, sliding along a cable over the tree tops, or observing flora and fauna from a canopy observation platform. The road trip to Playa Dominical Costa Rica is definitely a great opportunity to enjoy the beautiful scenery of this area. You can expect rainfall in Playa Dominical the same as on any beach or in any town in the south and central Pacific Region of the country. It is unbelievable that such a small town is so well organized. The community of Dominical has developed different social programs such as recycling, reforestation, ecological education and a sea turtle nursery. This is a common practice in almost all tourist oriented towns and villages in Costa Rica. There are lots of great activities to enjoy in the great beach town of Playa Dominical. Costa Rica offers here great horseback riding tours that will take you to Nauyaca Waterfall which is 213 ft (65 meters) high. This is a beautiful trip that will allow you to take in the surrounding landscape. Close to this secluded area you will find the Ballena (Whale) Marine National Park. This park was created in 1990 to protect 8 miles (13 km) of shoreline. The park includes 272 land acres (110 hectares) and 13 water acres (5 hectares).
