Playa del Coco is probably the best known beach in the Guanacaste Costa Rica region. It lies near the Daniel Oduber International Airport in Liberia This extremely popular beach is the biggest coastal village in the area. Visitors choose this beach for its inexpensive accommodations and wide array of water sports. Tourists can partake in activities such as sport fishing sailing and outstanding scuba diving Playa del Coco is known as a gateway beach, serving as a base camp from which to migrate towards excellent surfing spots, sites for turtle watching or observation of other wildlife species. The town has modern conveniences such as stores, bars, restaurants and hotels. The beach itself is a stretch of gray brown sand set inside a horseshoe-shaped bay. The tides are low; the sun shines bright, weather is incredibly nice all year round plus there are fantastic tourist facilities available.
