| At the Snake World you will have the opportunity to learn about some of the species of snakes of Costa Rica. Poisonous and non poisonous species are kept in terrariums. Approximately 137 species of them have been identified in Costa Rica of which 22 species are poisonous. The Serpentarium has a display of approximately 42 terrariums where you will observe poisonous and non-poisonous snakes, lizards, turtles, frogs and toads. Among the species shown are corals, fer-de-lance, boa constrictor, vine, rattle snake, jumping pit viper, side stripe palm pit viper, among others. Your tour guide will provide valuable information about all the reptiles and their behavior, habitat, reproduction, their defense methods, etc. |
