| The trip begins with a 20 minute drive from Fortuna to the river. Upon arrival, each guest will have the opportunity to fill up their water bottles with bottled water, use the restrooms and walk through the gardens. After the orientation talk you will embark on the float down the Penas Blancas that lasts approximately two hours. The guides will help point out and talk about monkeys, lizards, frogs, opossum, sloth, bats, owls, crocodiles, toucans, parrots, hummingbirds and other species. In addition to the wildlife, guests will have the opportunity to see exotic flora. At the end of the river guests will arrive at a local working farm where the owner is a well know horse breeder and trainer. His daughter dances traditional style while you enjoy delicious typical food his wife has cooked like yucca bread, homemade cheese, plantains, all served with our coffee made the old-fashion way in a special “sock”. Everything you eat here comes directly from their land! Upon request, horse shows are also available. The trip concludes with a 20 minute drive back to Fortuna. |
