The beautiful Sarapiqui River, known as the most scenic river of Costa Rica’s rainforest, travels 35km through lush reserves, stunning views and is full of excitement for all ages. The first section is 11km long and it boasts frothy white water class IV rapids, appropriate for the expert and physically fit; the second 13km sector boasts class II and III, apt for beginners and intermediates; and the lower Safari section allows for nature enjoyment at its fullest. Hacienda Pozo Azul offers all of these river sections. This fantastic tour leaves at the Hacienda’s put-in and runs 13km to Chilamate, with an average gradient of 1.2% it can be run year round, and no previous experience is required. This trek is safe with several accesses throughout the tour and constant communication with the base. Schedules are flexible upon request.
