| The local dives offer schools of thousands of yellow tail snapper and grunts at almost every site. Reef fish species are a blend of Pacific varieties not encountered in the Caribbean waters, like frog fish, sea horses, harlequin shrimp, Moorish idol, banded guitar fish and moray eels. Big animals encountered by divers include manta rays, spotted eagle rays, jewfish and whale sharks. All these creatures provide great opportunities for underwater photographers. You will dive volcanic rock formations and rock pinnacles. There is some black coral, soft coral and cup coral, which is spectacular at night. The night dive offers an impressive experience with puffer fish, different crab species, parrot fish, trigger fish, guitar fish, sleeping turtles, nudibranchs and feeding coral polyps. Water Temperatures range between 78-86F° April to November and 68-74F° December to March. Underwater visibility is variable, ranging from 20 to 80ft depending upon location. Daily local dives leave at 8:45am and returns around 1:00pm. Full equipment package $25.00 per person. |
