| You will leave La Fortuna for the Rio Celeste and have a typical breakfast en route. Once you arrive at Tenorio Volcano National Park you will begin this hike through the tropical rainforest. You will then arrive at Los Tenideros of the Rio Celeste. This is the site where two streams of crystalline water come together and form the heavenly blue color that gives the river its name. You will then return along trails, rich with ecological wonders, that lead you to the Ollas, openings in the earth where we can gather healing mud, take a mud bath, and a dip in the natural hot springs all while observing the attractions of the Tenorio Volcano. You will continue your hike through the jungle to seek out the furnace of the volcano and hike near vents that expel gases of extremely high temperatures. On your descent you will get to see the spectacular Rio Celeste waterfall whose color makes it one of a kind. Your final reward is an exquisite lunch at the end of our journey. |
