Turtle Nesting - Ostional Olive Ridley

Playa Ostional constitutes one of the two most important nesting sites in the world for the Olive Ridley Turtles. Here, on 5 miles of sandy beach, the turtles prefer only a small area of 900 yards in which to lay their eggs. Large numbers of turtles arrive from July to November, usually at night, during the last quarter of the moon. If you are in the area, do not miss this incredible experience. In addition to the unforgettable view of the turtles laying their eggs, you can also see howler monkeys, iguanas and birds. To the southeast, there is an outstanding panoramic view of the large mangrove swamp located on the delta of the Nosara River. It will be an adventurous evening.
