Playa Tivives Costa Rica
Tivives is a virtually unvisited shoreline situated in the south side of the vivid coastal town of Puntarenas. Tivives offers visitors numerous recreation alternatives; choose to fish, embark in wonderful boat trips through the swamp's channels, besides great surfing. Tivives has large tropical mangrove swamps; the stunning beach is ideal for walking or go horseback riding. This 2.5 miles long brown-sand coastline features huge waves, being rather popular among keen surfers. Its challenging deep sea waters force you to paddle for quite a while; even when just sitting on the lineup. Tivives provides amazing rights plus gnarly left breaks with strong currents; at the river's mouth find almost perfect, sometimes tubular, left waves. Be careful with the powerful sets because they will kick the same widths as 5 or 6 waves for sure! Tivives boasts terrific beach breaks offering lengthy waves breaking close to shore; these are at their best during mid-high tide. Despite its unique wave conditions, surfers and swimmers should be cautious when practicing water sports here since there are crocodiles in the river mouth. Seasoned surfers ought to have marvelous times here, but rookies might want to consider surfing other settings. Although not many options for lodging are available, you can camp right on seashore. Tivives is located about 8km after Puerto Caldera; the entrance to this coast can be found in the Costanera Highway and can be accessed by car year round.
