This full day tour is for guests who are looking for the ultimate rainforest adventure. Assisted by one of the local guides you leave the lodge early on horseback and ride up to the end of neighboring Valle Bonito. Then you hike three to four hours through the center of the Esquinas forest, climbing 300 meters over a mountain covered with primary forest before descending to Playa San Josecito on Golfo Dulce. Trails can be muddy and slippery after heavy rains. After reaching the palm-fringed beach, you have time for a picnic and to swim in the ocean before being picked up by a motor boat for the ride along the beautiful coast to Golfito and a drive back to the lodge. It is also possible to hike the whole trail. Good physical shape and fitness are required.
