A picturesque four-mile nature trail leads from Cahuita to Puerto Vargas; beyond Cahuita Point. The scenic hike takes about two hours, with frequent stops for a picnic, a swim in the warm Caribbean waters, to observe at the Howler Monkeys swinging playfully among the treetops high overhead or to focus your binoculars on a striking Green Ibis or Rufus Kingfisher. Avid snorkelers will enjoy swimming near Cahuita Point or Puerto Vargas. The warm blue waters boast over 35 species of gorgeous corals, including elk horn, brain coral and Venus sea fan, as well as 123 species of tropical fish that swim around you. Although these hikes tend to travel over very short distances, you will become one with nature. You will awaken all of your senses on the journey by seeing, smelling, hearing and sensing this beautiful piece of paradise. You will return to your hotel feeling refreshed and alive.
