This tour can be taken with one of the local guides on the trails in the forest as well as along the road to La Gamba next to open pastures and in riverbeds. Birds to be seen in the forest include Trogons, Tanagers, Woodpeckers and Manakins, the bird fauna of the more open areas (along the streets and pastures) include Egrets, Flycatchers, Hummingbirds and Toucans. In the forests near the lodge, the famous "Black-cheeked Ant Tanager“, which is reported to be endemic to the Golfo Dulce area, can be found! The best time for bird watching is in the early morning or in the late afternoon.
